One Dead as Israeli Military Fire on Gaza-Hospital
Israeli soldiers have killed one person and injured around 15 more in Gaza, a medical official told RIA Novosti on Friday.

The soldiers fired on a group of people who had strayed into the buffer zone between Gaza and Israel, the Palestinian hospital official said.
The Israeli military said it fired warning shots at a group of people trying to scale the buffer zone fence just east of the town of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.

"Trying to breach Gaza fence in order to enter Israel - is breaking ceasefire," tweeted IDF spokeswoman Avital Leibovich.
An Israeli Defense Force spokesperson told RIA Novosti that "some 300 Palestinians" had held a protest at the border fence, "damaging it and, possibly, trying to enter Israel."

This would be the first new casualty in Gaza since Israel and the Hamas Islamist group agreed an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire on Wednesday.

A number of rockets have been fired at southern Israel from Gaza since the truce came into force, but Israeli forces have not responded.
The United Nations says 158 Palestinians, many of them civilians, died in Israel's November 14-21 bombardment of Gaza, which it launched in response to a surge in Palestinian rockets.

Six Israelis died in the eight day conflict, officials said. (Cihan/Ria Novosti)
