HDP withdraws motion against Erdoğan
The pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) has withdrawn a motion regarding Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, which was set to be discussed in Parliament on Friday, due to a rally in the eastern province of Ağrı to be held by sister party the pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) the same day.

The motion was filed by the HDP on May 25 seeking answers in connection with a disastrous mining accident in Soma, a town in the western province of Manisa, earlier this month. But with numerous lawmakers of the sister party BDP unable to attend Friday's session, the HDP withdrew the motion.
