Famous çiğ köfte brand opens döner chain in China
Komagene, Turkey's largest çiğ köfte chain, has taken its expertise in Turkish cuisine to China with the opening of the new D'gene franchise that will be serving up the world-famous döner.

Komagene along with a Chinese partner began selling döner in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, where a large number of of Muslims live, on Sunday. The company aims to open 400 franchise shops in China by the end of 2015, taking advantage of the world's largest fast-food market in a population of 1.3 billion.

While attending the opening ceremony of the first franchise shop last week in the district of Ginwa, Komagene General Manager Çetin Tekdemir announced that D'gene will enter the Turkish market under the banner of Dönergene in the coming year. He added that the company plans to enter markets around the world but will first evaluate demand in target countries before setting up shop. The newly established franchise also opened a meat production center in the Wuzhong province of Ningxia.

D'gene Ningxia General Manager Ma Chunguo noted that there are many döner sellers in China, but D'gene's aim is to offer customers a taste of the original Turkish döner. Turkish-Chinese Industrialists and Businessmen Association (TÜÇSİAD) Vice President Ayhan Bermek and Turkish Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists' (TUSKON) China representative Kerami Göz were also present at the ceremony.
