Elephant Creates Ruckus in Village, Kills Elderly Woman
In yet another incident of man-elephant conflict, an elderly woman was killed in Dhuptola village of Goalpara district of Assam, in the wee hours of Saturday's morning. A herd of elephants ransacked the entire village and destroyed two houses. Though forest officials arrived at the spot but did not take any measure.

The incident has created chaos in the area. The people of the area alleged forest officials for frequent man-elephant conflicts as the forest officials have done nothing to stop the poachers and illegal cutting of trees in the forests which led the elephants to come out of the forest for food.
