Documentary and short film competition to take place at 17th Boston
A documentary and short film competition will take place between Nov. 29 and Dec. 6 during the 17th Boston Turkish Festival, offering a rare opportunity for filmmakers to share their work with an international audience.

More than a hundred films shot by filmmakers from different countries including France, Germany, Holland and Turkey, will compete during the festival, which has a theme of "Colors of Anatolia," and reflects the richness of Turkish culture through art exhibits, concerts, Turkish cinema as well as workshops.

The competition has evolved into a tradition, which gives festival goers a chance to see the films during which gives the international audience the chance to be among the first to view the films. The film screenings, which are either in English or have English subtitles, will take place at Boston University, Goethe-Institut Boston and the Museum of Fine Arts Boston.

The jury members consisting of directors and film editors will select the "Best Documentary," "Best Short Film" and give "Audience Awards" at the end of the screenings. The winning films will be screened again at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston during the Boston Turkish Film Festival, which will take place in March and April of next year.
