Accident in Samsun Copper Plant Leaves Five Dead, 11 Injured
Five workers died and at least 11 others were injured after becoming trapped under the fallen lid of an ammonia tank at the Eti Copper Plant in the Black Sea province of Samsun on Thursday.

The incident occurred in the Eti Copper Plant in the Tekkeköy district of Samsun.

The incident took place while the workers were trying to install the lid of the tank, which weighs around 300 tons, government resources said.

Many more workers are estimated to be under the collapsed part of the plant that was damaged in the accident. Ambulances and rescue workers were deployed to the area and rescue teams are working to pull the injured from the rubble. According to data acquired from the civil defense teams working at the scene a total of 25 people were working at the plant when the collapse took place. Relatives of the workers rushed to the scene after they heard of the incident.
