Wounded Turkish policeman dies in hospital
A Turkish police officer has succumbed to his injuries sustained in a Feb. 1 attack by PKK terrorists in southeastern Turkey, health sources said Tuesday.
The 24-year-old police officer was severely wounded when a roadside bomb planted by the terrorist went off in the southeastern town of Idil in Sirnak province.
He was getting treatment at a military hospital in Turkish capital Ankara.
The PKK -- designated a terrorist organization also by the U.S. and the EU -- renewed its armed campaign against the Turkish state in late July 2015.
Since then, more than 250 members of the security forces have been martyred and thousands of PKK terrorists killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
