Turkey will boost trade volumes with Middle East partners as stability returns to region, says deputy economy minister.
Turkey will play a leadership role as Middle Eastern trade revives, Deputy Economy Minister Adnan Yildirim has told The Anadolu Agency.
Speaking at the Financial Times Summit on the Turkish economy in Istanbul on Wednesday, Yildirim said: "Once stability returns to the region, trade will revive, and Turkey will be able to boost trade volume with its Middle Eastern partners.
"Turkey is an energy hub, and an economic hub for the Middle East."
"Our industry will also been an important investor in the region as trade revives," Yildirim added.
Yildirim cited the construction industry and services as areas that were likely to expand in the region once stability is restored.
Speaking of the government's economic program, Yildirim pointed out that the government will be implementing 1,500 action plans targeting specific economic sectors after the elections.
"Implementation of the government's program will be a key factor. We will focus on the G20 priorities: Inclusiveness, implementation and investment will be our priorities for Turkey as well."
