TAV chief ranks 10th in Construction Week Power 100
TAV CEO Sani Sener ranks 10th in the construction sector Power 100 Gulf Region list by Construction Week Magazine
TAV Group President Sani Sener ranked 10th in the Power 100 list for the construction sector in the Gulf Region by Construction Week Magazine, Turkish TAV Airports said on Tuesday.
"TAV is the world's largest company in the airport construction industry." the magazine noted. The magazine stated that TAV is a key player especially in Saudi Arabia, UAE and Qatar in the Gulf Region," the company said in a statement.
The magazine pointed out that TAV has multi-cultural human resources, and that the company invests in the professional and personal development of the employees.
"Whilst the list has a symbolic meaning, it represents the success of the technique and labor of Turkish engineering and corporate management in one of the most challenging markets of the world," Sener said in the statement. "The award belongs to our young engineers, architects and all other employees, who work in Madinah, Jeddah, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Oman and Dubai. We just lead them with the experience we have gained so far. The Gulf Region, which has fast growth, is the world's most competitive geography for the construction sector nowadays."
In 2014, the company provided services for 743,000 flights and 95 million passengers. And TAV construction has $16 billion in contracts and is now rated by Engineering News Record as the world’s second-largest airport contractor.
TAV operates two of Turkey's busiest airports; Istanbul Ataturk and Ankara Esenboga as well as Izmir Adnan Menderes, Gazipasa Alanya and Milas Bodrum Airports.
It also operates Tbilisi and Batumi Airports in Georgia; Monastir and Enfidha-Hamammet Airports in Tunisia; Skopje and Ohrid Airports in Macedonia, Medinah Airport in Saudi Arabia and Zagreb Airport in Croatia. TAV is also active in other areas of airport operations including duty free, food and beverage, ground handling, IT, and security and operation services.
