Patient dies of MERS in Germany
65-year-old male is first victim in two years in Germany
German clinic Niels-Stensen has announced Tuesday that a 65-year-old male had died of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) in Germany.
This is the first victim of the flu-like illness in Germany in two years.
The German clinic confirmed that the patient had died of MERS at St. Raphael Hospital in Ostercappeln municipality, in Lower Saxony 10 days ago.
The tests made on 200 people who had interacted with the patient showed that none were infected.
