Ivory Coast goalkeeper Barry announces his retirement from international football

The Ivory Coast's national goalkeeper, Boubacar Barry, announced that he retired from international football on Tuesday.

The veteran goalkeeper thanked those who supported him during his career via his Facebook account.

"As you know, all good things must end. I decided to end my national football career and I was proud of playing for the Ivory Coast," the 34-year-old said.

Barry was picked for three FIFA World Cup tournaments and has been capped 86 times for the Ivory Coast.

The Ivorian goalkeeper helped his country win the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations against Ghana by successfully converting his penalty after saving Ghanaian goalkeeper Brimah Razak's penalty kick.

The Ivory Coast won the final 9-8 on penalties and, in turn, managed to win the Africa Cup of Nations title after a 22-year break.
