Daily life is getting back to normal in Washington, the United States, whose northeast coast was hit by Hurricane Sandy.
Residents of Washington mostly suffered from blackouts caused by the storm.
Federal offices, business places and schools were reopened on Thursday. Service on the subway resumed and buses returned to the streets. Limited flights and train services also resumed in D.C. area.
People along the battered U.S. East Coast slowly began reclaiming their daily routines Thursday, even as crews searched for victims and tens of thousands remained without power after superstorm Sandy claimed more than 70 lives.
