14 PKK Terrorists Killed in Army Operation
Turkish warplanes struck several targets of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in rural areas of the southeastern province of Hakkari on Thursday evening and 14 terrorists were killed in the airstrikes and in a ground operation that followed the air bombardment, security sources said.

When people provided intelligence to security officials about gatherings of some terrorist groups in several high plateaus in the region, respectively Avaşin, Habeşki and Basyan plateaus, security forces backed with attack helicopters launched a ground operation to several points.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) spotted positions of the groups and delivered images to the ground station. Turkish jets struck the points before the ground operation took place and killed many terrorists.

Special operations units endorsed by attack helicopters carried out an operation and engaged in clashes with the PKK groups.
Authorities said 14 terrorists were killed during the airstrikes and clashes.

One soldier was killed in clashes with the PKK in Şemdinli district of Hakkari earlier in the day. (Cihan/Today's Zaman)
