US-led coalition strikes ISIL 11 times in Iraq, Syria
Four strikes hit the militants in Syria, while seven strikes target the group in Iraq

The U.S.-led coalition carried out four air strikes against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIL, in Syria, and struck the group seven times in Iraq, U.S. Central Command announced Thursday.

Two strikes in Syria destroyed an ISIL checkpoint near the northern border town of Kobani, also known as Ayn al-Arab, and an ISIL tank west of Raqqah, ISIL's unofficial capital. Multiple ISIL facilities east of Aleppo were also hit by a strike, but no information was provided on whether they were damaged or destroyed.

A separate strike in Syria north of Mount Sinjar damaged an ISIL tank.

The United Arab Emirates participated in the Syria strikes.

In Iraq, an air strike destroyed four ISIL vehicles, two of which were armed, northwest of Baghdad. Two air strikes northwest of Mosul destroyed an ISIL Humvee, damaged two others, destroyed three armed vehicles and damaged several other vehicles, as well as an ISIL building.

Two airstrikes west of Ramadi damaged an ISIL building and destroyed an ISIL vehicle. A strike northeast of Sinjar destroyed an ISIL vehicle.

An ISIL vehicle was also destroyed east of Fallujah.

The United Kingdom joined in the Iraq strikes.
